Social events photo coverage

Gather memories; document your social event, gala, party. Show your guests they matter and offer them a great gift at the end in the form of fun portraits they will enjoy a lot more than a pen, plaque or other trinket. A big social event is always an epic endeavour. Don’t put all that effort in without gathering photos you can then use to post and promote the next one, or to just enjoy seeing all that you accomplished and how many people you brought joy to through your time and effort.

More on Event Photography

Event photography greater detail

Event photography is the ability to capture a story, made up of moments big and small, in high-quality images. It is photography that captures any type of event or group gathering. There are different types of event photography, but the main characteristic is that you are photographing spontaneous events as they happen.

What makes event photography unique, the fact that it’s about capturing an event happening around you, is also what makes it difficult at first if you’ve only been shooting in a controlled environment. Compared to studio photography, event photography is not as forgiving, for example, but that element of surprise and the unexpected is what makes event photography interesting and rewarding.

The type of event photography most are readily familiar is wedding photography. This is a particularly important and challenging type of event photography, but it’s not one we offer at Fullframe Creative. Below you will find more information about the type of event photography we do cover…which is just about all of them except weddings.

Types of event photography

Corporate events

Often when people talk about event photography, what they’re really describing is corporate photography. Corporate event photography can include conferences and corporate gatherings, and it’s a great way to provide appreciated memories and mementos for guests, staff, donors, partners and the like in a professional setting.

Private event photography:

This might include birthday parties, mitzvahs, christenings and family reunions. It requires special social skills which our photographers do have, and it requires discretion.

Community events photography:

These can be local meetings and gatherings, or even official town proceedings. These events are similar to media events and press conferences, but they are often larger and can be more chaotic, which presentes certain challenges for the photographer. At Fullframe Creative we are often asked to provide video coverage as well at community events.

Concert, dance and theater photography:

This type of creative event photography is a little different from the others, as the equipment requirements are not the same as for standard event photography. At Fullframe we have covered notably the Clara Haskil Piano Competition and various concerts and cultural events at the Rosey School in Rolle, the Hermitage Museum in Lausanne, among other venues.

Sports event photography:

This type of event photography requires specialized equipment, typcially huge zoom lenses capable of capturing the action from far away. The list of shots required will be very different from that of other types of event photography.
